“1953
CHEVY BELAIR”

Please enjoy the following photos of this great old survivor Chevy. You will be amazed at the condition of the original interior and the condition of the car in general for a vehicle 58 years young.
In December of 2009 the 53 was treated to some needed mechanical upgrades. The carburetor was rebuilt, and all new plugs, points, wires, and condenser were installed. A new fuel tank sending unit was installed.
Also done at that time, the transmission was dropped and all new seals were installed, the radiator and transmission cooler were repaired, the original generator was rebuilt and a new voltage regulator was installed. A new 180 degree thermostat was installed and the engine was painted and freshened up.
The 53 has been treated to a repaint of its original color, and al of the chrome has been redone.
Fitted with the deluxe hood ornament and moldings, the car looks great. Easily a winner at a local show in the original 50's class.
There is some rust under the doors, which is not uncommon in a 58 year old car.
Now that the origianl 235 ci Engine and the Powerglide transmission have been gone over, the car runs and drives well.
The original interior, covered when new with the plastic seat covers to protect it, is well preserved. The carpeting has been replaced and the windshield and all rubber moldings.
The original dash is amazing.
These miles are believed to be original.
The trunk is in excellent condition.
Also replaced in the past few years, were the brakes, shocks and exhaust system.
Short of some surface rust, the undercarriage is solid and in great condition.
