Buick's Special showcased a brand-new body design and chassis for 1954 along with the classic Nailhead V8. 1955 would bring still more changes with a streamlined grille and beautiful chrome-laden tail light & bumper design. This example showcases the classic low and wide design along with the classic two-tone red & white paint scheme of the era. The brightwork is in outstanding condition throughout. This is no ordinary Buick. This car has been built for comfort, reliability, and show. We hope you enjoy the following presentation.

A trio of VentiPorts announced the Special model designation. The 1949 to '57 Buick Specials have 3 VentiPorts, while more expensive offerings had 4.

The paint and body show exceptionally well throughout this '55 Buick. There are subtle and tasteful custom features to look for.

The antenna is frenched; also the rear door handles have been shaved, giving this car a beautiful look.

There is no doubt you are looking at a Buick! The grille and bumpers are in wonderful condition, displaying beautiful chrome work on these vintage pieces. This tasteful design debuted on the '55.

The reverse lights burn bright, as do the brake lights. These cars are chromed works of art, especially this particular '55 Buick Special.

Another custom feature are these polished aluminum wheels. These Boss Motorsport 20-inch wheels are wrapped in high performance Goodyear Eagle GTII radials sized at 275/45R20 all around.

Open the doors to classic Buick style and modern Buick luxury. The interior features plush leather seating and driver comfort features. The steering wheel and interior leave no doubt you are still in a Buick.

The dash is simple and elegant. The Dakota digital gauges are housed in restored and painted Buick brightwork. A digital AM/FM Buick stereo has also been installed in the dash.

1954 would be the first year of Buick's overhead-valve Nailhead V8. This Special boasts a substantial re-power in the form of this stout fuel-injected 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 matched with an automatic overdrive transmission. This is a touring machine. An aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan keep the operating temperatures in check.

The engine compartment has been custom tailored to showcase the F.I. 350 without clutter. The firewall and inner fenders are smooth and streamlined, free of exposed wiring. This is a beautiful engine compartment, detailed to show. The serpentine belt drives the air conditioning and power steering. The braking system has been updated with a modern GM power front disc brake setup. Note the detail of the firewall, inner fenders, and core support metal on this classic Buick.

The upholstery is beautifully done.

The door panels are very tastefully done with power window controls housed on the custom center console.

The truck is detailed to show.

The undercarriage displays the stock chassis and updated features. The A-frame front end and sway bar feature late bushings and an updated front disc braking system. The custom exhaust system is professionally mounted and sounds great.

A modern poly fuel tank has been installed as well. The shocks have been replaced front to back. The chassis itself is in excellent condition. The flooring and bracing appears solid throughout this Buick.
