Two-Tone paint would return in 1955 along with a re-designed body for the Eighty-Eight series. The exterior appears just as it would in 1955. The paint was restored with PPG base/clearcoat in the factory color combination of Turquoise & Polar White. The 15-inch factory wheels/hubcaps are fitted with Broadway H78-15 Wide Whitewall Poly-Bias tires all around. The front end has been rebuilt & aligned. This car is a pleasure to drive. It has power steering and power-assist brakes. Much of the exterior brightwork has been re-plated and or polished to a high luster.

The front end was re-styled for 1955, the Oldsmobile letter now in the grille assembly. Open the doors to 1955. The interior is in simply beautiful condition throughout. Under the hood is the Super 88's 324 cubic inch 4bbl. "Rocket" V8. The engine compartment is detailed to show, appearing original but with some updates. The factory oil bath HD air cleaner has been converted to a dry element filter. Also the oil filter has been replaced with a screw-on replacement type. The generator charging system has been rebuilt with an Optima battery & new battery tie-down installed. Engine gaskets have been gone through and paint detailed as needed. The carburetor has been rebuilt. The distributor was rebuilt. This is all recent work.

The Hydramatic Automatic transmission has also been rebuilt, completed in May of this year. The two-tone vinyl upholstery is in excellent condition front to back as are the door panels. The dash is amazing. The brightwork was removed and re-chromed. The gauges were cleaned and checked for function. The clock was cleaned and oiled, the bezel re-chromed. The undercarriage displays an excellent frame, flooring, recent exhaust, bushings, and a front end rebuilt. There are a few rocker panel repairs, photographed above. This is a very nice car and it shows throughout.

The white convertible top is in excellent condition as is the convertible top frame assembly. The top was gone through with new hoses and cylinders installed. It works correctly. Be sure to play our video of this Oldsmobile in action. The undercarriage displays much of the work performed including the oem type exhaust system. The front end has been rebuilt. Bushings have been replaced as needed. The exterior rocker panels show well along both sides.

The trunk is clean and detailed to show. We have a chassis service manual, chassis parts book, an Oldsmobile brochure and owner's manual. This is your opportunity to own a collector quality 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible. The glove box is the only part of the car that shows a few  cracks in the paint.
