Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this custom restored 1956 Chevy BelAir. Born a BelAir, this car has been updated with a 502/502HP GM crate engine paired with a 700R4 4-Speed Automatic. The paint job is PPG Base/Clearcoat while the interior is restored headliner to the carpet. This car drives very nice and will do great for any long distance touring. The stout 9-inch rear end is geared for the highway.  Chevrolet did a thorough re-design for the 1956 model Chevrolet's front to back. This example has several custom features, we have a thick binder of receipts for the build work. The 502 crate engine was installed in 2009. The interior was completed re-done in 2011. The work performed in the binder dates from 2009 on. The 4-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2009.

The chromed bumpers show well front to back. The chromed sabretooth grille  is a very cool addition.  The paint and body work is professionally done and it shows. The body is straight. The paint finish is quality PPG base/clearcoat with  the paint formulation information included. The pearl blue flames  over the pearl white paint really shines in the sun and shade.

The engine compartment is in excellent condition, with chromed and polished updated components throughout. The braking system has been upgraded with a small diameter chromed power booster and chromed master cylinder. The air conditioning compressor is polished and the alternator is chromed. The engine compartment is very detailed. The cooling system consists of dual cooling fans pulling air through a high capacity polished aluminum radiator with billet overflow tank. The firewall, inner fenders, are core support are finished out and detailed throughout.

The interior has been completely customized. The door panels are pressed and fitted with custom armrests and trim. The tweed bucket seating features an 8-way power driver's seat and a custom center console to match. The headliner is custom designed and pressed, finished in matching tweed. The dash features woodgrain accents. The backlit gauges are by Classic Instruments and are all functional. The Vintage Air Conditioning works great and blows cold. Again, this is a great distance cruiser that can drive to a car show and win.

The body has a few modifications. The door handles have been shaved. the antenna was frenched and doubled as you see in the photos. A custom third brake light has been styled into the center roof line. The correct stainless is intact throughout this car. There's a Tazmanian Devil "Taz" characature on the deck lid. The fuel fill is located in the trunk, with a vinyl panel to hide it. Be sure to play our video/sound clip of this BelAir in action.

The trunk is finished out, fully upholstered & with a hidden fuel fill door. The undercarriage is clean and detailed, displaying a rebuilt front end, replaced shocks, clean and detailed frame and good solid flooring and bracing throughout.
