Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this upscale '57 Olds 88. This car has been built to perform on the street and cruise with ease. It runs better, is safer, and good-looking to boot. This is a very nice Olds with a unique history. It was originally sold to Cromwell Industries on January 14th, 1957.

Oldsmobile debuted a brand-new design for 1957. The Super 88 was the performance lightweight with luxury appointments rivaling the top-tier Olds 98. This example has been upgraded even further. Power is courtesy of a 455 c.i. 4bbl. V8 from a '73 Olds 98. This big block is paired with a stout TH400 automatic transmission. A latter GM front clip with disc brakes has also been installed along with power steering. This classic Olds88 is a pleasure to cruise. It has been driven in Texas and is inspected each of the last 3 years.

The exterior is finished in a custom sparkling red metallic & black clearcoat. The paint shows well and is very slick, with only minor imperfections to note. The finish was completed in 2011. The chrome was removed and replated. The stainless steel has been polished. The is very straight. The doors, hood, and trunk open and close correctly.

Open the doors to this fabulous '57.

The interior features custom 3-tone upholstery with matching door panels.

The dash displays striking factory brightwork. The speedometer has been calibrated to run acurately with the transmission. The lights, directional signals, wipers, brakes, and power steering are working properly. The original AM radio is not working, nor is the clock.

The headliner displays polished bows. The windows roll up and down and the door flappers work.

Under the hood is the latter Olds 98 455 big block V8. This powerplant runs smooth with plenty of power. This is a great engine for cruising. Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm solid sheet metal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support areas. Induction is courtesy of a Holley double-pumper 4bbl. carburetor. Exhaust gases are expelled through a custom header dual exhaust system.

The underhood firewall identification plate is still in place as is the door jamb vin plate.

The undercarriage displays solid framework throughout. The front floorboards have been patched. See photos. A later model GM front clip with disc brakes has been installed. This Oldsmobile drives out and stops straight. The engine and transmission underside are clean. The shocks are newer. The 455 is well-backed by the torque-rich 455 cubic inch 4bbl. V8.

The door undersides are in very good condition as are the custom tri-color door panels.

This Super Eighty-Eight rides on painted steel 15-inch wheels wrapped in 275/60R15 & 235/60R15 Super Sport Futura radial tires.

The trunk is clean and detailed, fully carpeted with matching painted spare tire/wheel and jacking equipment.

This is your opportunity to own a very unique 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Two-Door Hardtop Coupe.
