Glitz and Glamour of the late 50s &
early 60s ! In
1960, the Plymouth Fury was the top
offering in Plymouth's line-up.
Legendary designer Virgil Exner was the
man responsible for this classic style
known as "The Million Dollar Look." Many
of our photos of this classic '60
Plymouth Fury were taken at the Dallas
Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum,
located only minutes from our showroom.
Be sure to visit our friends at their
historical museum if you visit Dallas,
Texas. This
classic Plymouth Fury showcases driver
quality paint along with intact & rare
brightwork throughout. The
doors, hood, and trunk open and close
correctly. The
paint displays an excellent gloss and
overall appeal. There are a number of
paint imperfections and chip touch-up if
you look closely. The
interior is finished in red vinyl with
white piping for a classic decor. The
dash displays its original
instrumentation as well. The
Aero steering wheel is a feature unique
to the Plymouth. The
speedometer works as does the Jensen
Cassette stereo. The
door panels are intricate and classic
pieces in decent shape, showing some age
with their brightwork intact. The
dash has been recovered on the passenger
side pad. The
pushbutton Torque Flite automatic
transmission works as it should.
These cars are becoming increasingly
hard to acquire. When was the last time
you spotted a 1960 Plymouth Fury
Two-Door Hardtop? Fury
and Plymouth badging is prominent on
this beautiful car. The
engine compartment displays the 318 c.i.
engine along with clean and solid inner
fenders, core support, and firewall
sheetmetal. The original option
identification plate is also intact. The
original charging system is still in
place. The
intake casting number (1859228) is
clearly displayed above. The
engine pad stamping is shown above. The
red metallic finish is complimented by
silver along the front coves.
These classic fins and "dummy" spare
tire cover are timeless design features
of the 1960 Plymouth Fury. The
trunk is solid and complete with the
original jacking equipment. The
original trim identification plate is
posted above. The
original VIN plate is also in place.
Style was prominent on the 1960 Plymouth
Fury. Check out the driver & passenger
mirrors, shown above. The
upholstery is in good condition front to
back, showing some age. The
door panels are also showing their age
with some nicks and cracking shown
above. The
door undersides are solid and corrosion
free. This is a very solid old car. The
underbody is also very solid, indicitive
of a car kept in dry condition. The
exhaust system has been replaced. The
flooring, frame and engine underside are
clean and solid, as is the rear end. The
original floor pans are intact
throughout. The
