 The seat upholstery has been replaced front to back.
1962 would be the first year of a floor console in the Ford Galaxie.
The door panels are original and in exceptionally nice condition as are the door undersides.

The trim identification plate is in place.  

The original AM radio is in place, there is also a Pioneer CD stereo wired in the glovebox out of sight with a handheld remote. 

These gold and chrome plated fender ornaments were exclusive to the 1962 model Galaxies. 

Ford would offer five different V8 engine options with the 1962 Galaxie. This car was ordered with the Thunderbird Special 352 2bbl. V8. This example has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4bbl. carburetor & aluminum intake manifold. This is a strong running engine with recent ignition upgrades including a flame throwing coil & Optima red top battery. This car has been kept in very good operating condition. It is a great cruiser ready to show and enjoy. 

The original 2bbl. carburetor, intake manifold, and breather are included.

The trunk also features a spare tire/wheel and jacking equipment.

Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm clean and detailed inner fenders and firewall sheetmetal throughout.

The undercarriage displays clean and detailed flooring throughout as well as a solid original frame. This car shows to have been kept in dry climate conditions. You'll notice front disc brakes, a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, and rear air shocks. This is a very rust-free example.

The convertible top boot is original.

The doors, hood, and trunk open and close as they should and line up very well. This is a very tight, good driving automobile with factory power steering along with front disc brakes. 

 The convertible top has been replaced and is excellent as is the glass. 

This beautiful Galaxie 500XL rides on new chromed Cragar S/S wheels wrapped in 225/70R15 B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A rubber on all four corners.
