The engine compartment proudly displays the originl 396 engine. This optional powerplant was rated at 350 horsepower, while the base 396 offered up 325 ponies. Options were few and power was plenty. This car is equipped with power steering and little else in the way of amenities. This is a true American Muscle Car.

The factory engine stamping is clear and correct. The last few numbers are faint, but are correct.
The interior showcases beatiful black bucket seating along with clean and detailed original instruments. The majority of bucket seat equipped Chevelles featured a floor shifter, this car was ordered with a column shifter.
The dash displays the original instruments including the optional tachometer.
The Delco AM/FM with the rear speaker was a popular option.
A hearty success, more Chevelles were sold in 1968 than any year past or present. Ironically sales of the SS396 modest compared to the previous year.
Road & Track described the 1968 Chevelle SS396 as well balanced and unpretentious.
The undercarriage showcases clean and detailed components throughout. The flooring and framework is solid, indicative of a dry climate car.
Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal clean and detailed inner fenderwells, firewall, and core support metal.
The Dark Blue (Fathom Blue Metallic) paint shows exceptionally well throughout this car. It is in excellent condition throughout.
According to the trim identification plate, this car was ordered with Fathom Blue with a White Vinyl Top. It is now sporting a black vinyl top in excellent condition.
The door panels are clean and detailed as are the beautifully detailed Fathom blue door jambs and door undersides.
