1966 Daimler Majestic Major DR450

Go Back....

We are proud to present this beautiful classic 1967 Daimler Majestic Major Limousine. This restored example features a recently overhauled upper engine ($7,000) along with quality paint and interior. This is the perfect classic vehicle for your personal or business use. We hope you enjoy our presentation.

In 1961, Daimler introduced the formal limousine version of its Majestic Major, the DR450.

The DR450 was built on a lengthen chassis and weighs in at approximately 2 tons. Only 864 examples were built until the last production year of 1968. This example showcases quality British Racing Green & Black paint throughout.

The beautiful interior features two rows of seating for rear passengers.

The driver's compartment is luxurious in its own right. The wood dash features an array of instruments and switches controlling everything from courtesy lighting to the glass partition.

The upholstery is in excellent condition front to back. The carpeting is clean and detailed as is the headliner and door panels.

Power is courtesy of the correct 4.5 Liter V8 engine. This engine features a cast iron block and alloy cylinder heads. It is factory rated at 220 horsepower and in literature from the 1960s, is said to propel this 2-ton limousine to 115mph.

The engine compartment is clean and detailed. Our service facility at Texas Classic Cars of Dallas recently completed an extensive upper engine overhaul with documentation to verify the work performed. The lifter trays were re-worked by Kip Motorworks. The cylinder heads have been rebuilt. Approximately $7,000 US was spent at our service department on the work performed with receipts to verify, recently completed.

The undercarriage is solid throughout. The frame is rigid and in good condition as well. The flooring is clean and detailed.

The original identification plate is in place on the firewall.

The trunk is clean and detailed, complete with jacking equipment and a spare tire/wheel.

You can see where the original umbrella was affixed in position, long missing.

This is a beautiful example of the Daimler Majestic-Major DR450 Limousine indeed.

Many of our photos were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. If you find yourself in Dallas, Texas, be sure to visit our showroom and our friends the historical Flight Museum.

Further inspection of the exterior will confirm clean and detailed body panels throughout. The paint displays an excellent gloss. It is unbelievable the attention this limousine gathers. People think it is worth well over $100,000! They ask if its a Rolls Royce or Jaguar especially. People are constantly taking photographs and video with their cellular phones. It really is a head-tuner. This is a grand machine indeed and a delight to experience as a driver and passenger. Few of these are to be found, especially in the United States.

This long-wheel-base (LWB) limousine is pure, delightful class and elegance.
