We
at Texas Classic Cars Of Dallas are very
proud to present this #s matching big block
Corvette.
“1968
Chevrolet Corvette 427 ”

"A two-door rocket," according to the 1970
Car and Driver review, the 1968 Chevrolet
Corvette remains the manufacturer's
best-selling model year.
A record 28,556 Corvettes were sold in 1968,
prompted by a new body design based on the
Mako Shark show car.
With a manufacturer's suggested retail price
of $5,787.80, this general body style would
continue unchanged until 1982.
The casting number on the back of the block
reads 3916321, which shows us.
427 - 390 HP (early) L36 3916321
Our 68 rides on Performance Radial G/Ts
235/60R15 98S all around, and stops easily
with it's disk brakes all around.
Painted it's original color (986 code)
Silverstone Silver Metallic, with it's (402
code) Black Leather interior, the car looks
awesome.
As always, we would like to thank our
friends at the Frontiers Of Flight Museum at
Dallas Love Field for their great background
for many of our photos.
Please be sure to visit the museum when in
Dallas.
The third generation Corvette, patterned
after the Mako Shark II concept car,
was introduced for the 1968 model year and
lasted until 1982
We think the pictures of this great car say
it all. The car runs great, looks great and
is ready to drive and enjoy.
The paint still looks great after 6 years
1968 was the only year for the push button
and flap type door opener together.
The interior shows very well.
The A/C blows cold
The undercarriage is very clean and solid
Rear end code shows it was built on the 2nd
shift,FA(3.70 Heavy Duty Positraction 427),
on March 27th,
in1968 at the Warren plant.
The transmission codes out to an M21 or M22
4 speed
We did not get pictures of the correct
transmission number and rear end number to
see if it matches the VIN# , but we can
check further when we get the car on the
lift again. We believe this could be
matching numbers all the way.
