Ford's Galaxie nameplate began in 1959, continuing into the early 70's. This '68 model Galaxie XL Convertible is a 390 V8 optioned example with recent upholstrey work. This is a good solid driver ready to enjoy. We hope you enjoy our presentation.

The 1968 model year Galaxie showcased a fresh re-design. Hide-away headlights were featured in the XL, LTD, and Country Squire models. This Ford's headlights work as they should. Be sure to play our video.
Ford's '68 Galaxie rides on a 119-inch wheelbase. This example is fitted with 15-inch Cragar S/S wheels wrapped in whitewall radials.

The dash features the original gauges along with the factory Philco AM radio (not working). The dash itself has been recovered along with the front & rear seating and door panels.

The seats are clean throughout.

There were six available engines for the '68 Galaxie. This example is powered by the Y-code 265-270 HP 390 2bbl. V8 with 9.5:1 compression.

The engine compartment retains many original components and is paired with the C6 automatic transmission. The engine compartment displays a solid undetailed firewall, inner fender, and core support steel.

The original data plate is in place and legible. This is a Twin Cities ordered '68 Galaxie XL Convertible with red exterior, red interior, an automatic transmission and a highway friendly 2.75:1 rear axle.

The exterior showcases a straight original body & the recent finish shows well. There are minor imperfections on closer inspection.

The black convertible top raises and lowers as it is depicted in our video. The top itself does show wear and has a few tears photographed. It also has the full glass rear window.

The trunk is clean and solid.

The door undersides are solid as well.

The undercarriage appears to be solid, undetailed and original throughout. The suspension consists of an independent front and live axle rear with coil springs front to back. This Galaxie features power steering and power front disc brakes as well.
