Let's Ride! Our video was taken here in Dallas, Texas.
This muscular stance is courtesy of chromed 14-inch Cragar S/S
wheels wrapped in 245/60R14 Uniroyal Tiger Paws.
1969 saw what would be the 2nd and last year of the more streamlined
'67-'69 bodies. This example showcases quality paint and body in
beautiful Monaco Orange.
The SS hood louvers have been replaced as have the emblems and cowl
vent screens.
The Super Sport was an option available on either the Chevelle 300,
the Malibu Sport Coupe, or the El Camino in 1969. No longer was it a
separate model as in previous years. Only the 396 c.i. engine was
available with the SS package in 1969. A very limited number of
Chevelles were also ordered with the COPO available 427 engine, but
that is a whole other story.
In 1969 the Chevelle lineup now consisted of the 300 Deluxe and
Malibu models. The Super Sport option was available on either two
door Chevelle.
The front end was recently completely rebuilt with receipts totaling
approximately $1,480.
The chrome grille bar across the front was a unique feature to the
1969 SS 396 Chevelle. The headlamp bezels have been replaced. The
grille emblem has also been replaced as have the front and rear
bumpers.
The body is straight down the sides.
Close inspection of the body will confirm exceptionally straight
body panels and quality paint with a few minor flaws showing on
close inspection. The car was purchased by its current owner in 2005
and refinished & updated as needed with paperwork to verify.
The blacked out rear tail light trim was an SS feature. The Super
Sport option was available at a cost of $347.60 in 1969.
The white vinyl top compliments the aggressive SS features
perfectly.
The locking steering column was standard Chevelle equipment in 1969.
The door undersides are in excellent condition.
The interior displays classic factory muscle car features including
bucket seating, a center console, and 4-speed shifter.
The headrest bucket seating is clean, detailed, and comfortable. The
seat backs are also in very good condition as is the headliner and
the door panels.
The upholstery is in excellent condition.
The radiator top shroud is chromed.
Under the hood, recent work includes a chromed 65 amp alternator
installed. A chromed master cylinder and power brake booster has
been installed. Also a chromed Power Steering pump has been
installed. The engine is tuned with AC Spark Plugs, replaced wires
and filters, a recent Edelbrock 750 cfm carburetor, and recent
ignition coil & HEI ignition system. The starter has been replaced
as well.
The firewall, inner fenders, and core support are clean and
detailed, original sheetmetal.
Few miles have been logged on this Edelbrock 750 cfm carburetor
since its been installed.
The trim tag confirms this to be a Monaco Orange car with White
Interior built at the Kansas City plant.
The front bright work is in excellent condition. The underhood
insulation has also been replaced.
The trunk lid is very clean and detailed.
The trunk features a custom interior kit to match the interior. The
pan is solid and detailed.
The trunk lip edges are in good condition throughout.
The undercarriage features work performed such as a complete front
end rebuilt. The front and rear shocks have been replaced. The front
springs have been replaced. Also the Rear brakes have been turned.
