Challenger showcases a well-appointed factory interior. The bucket seat is in
exceptional condition as is the rear seat. The dash proudly displays
the original Rally instrument Cluster and original steering
wheel. We do not have a lot of history on this car. Acording to
the fender tag & equipment, this is an RT/SE. The overhead console was
part of the Special Edition Package. The 1970 Dodge Challenger
was based on the Plymouth Barracuda platform, but it was
stretched by two inches to make more interior room. The styling
was unmistakably Challenger. Of the Cuda' and the Challenger,
the Dodge was considered the luxury example. The Daytona-Style Fuel fill
was clearly racing inspired. Close inspection of the paint will
confirm a professional restoration in this cars original FJ5
Sublime Green. This car has also been treated to the sinister
black-out hood treatment and longitudenal rear stripe. According
to the fender tag, the longitudenal rear stripe was originally
white, it is now black. The Special Edition models'
small back window was made possible by special filler panels
utilized & a quality vinyl top installed. The rear valance showcases
the factory-optioned dual exhaust with added chromed tips. This hot stance is thanks to
the factory suspension riding on correct 15-inch Rally wheels
wrapped in raised white letter B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As on all
four. The rear tires are sized at 275/60/15s and the front tires
are 235/60/15s. Wheel Well Bright Work was
optional. The undercarriage displays
solid flooring throughout. The R/T versions were fitted with
front & rear anti-roll sway bars. Essential equipment such as
power steering and power front disc brakes was still optional.
Fortunately this Challenger is equipped with both. The trunk is neat and tidy,
displaying the correct mat, collapsable spare tire w inflation
canister, and factory jacking equipment. You'll notice this rare
optional rear window defogger. This setup features an electric
fan motor that is ducted to the trunk. The defogger motor is not
hooked up, but we do have it for the car. Further inspection of the
engine & transmission will confirm them to be in good operating
condition. The engine compartment features clean and detailed
inner fenders, core support, and firewall metal. This Challenger
shows exceptionally well.
