Under the steel cowl hood is the 454 c.i. 4bbl. V8. This powerplant was factory rated at 365 horsepower in 1971. The 1971 Chevelle's SS package could be ordered with anything from a 350 2bbl. V8, to the LS-5 454 big block. This non-numbers matching V8 features a Holley 4bbl. carburetor and breathes through stock cast iron manifolds and dual exhaust.
Further inspection of the engine compartment will reveal solid original inner fenderwells, firewall, and core support steel. This Chevelle is equipped with air conditioning, power steering, and power front disc brakes.
The undercarriage features Super Sport exclusive features such as front and rear sway bars and the boxed control arms. The 1971 Chevelle SS was still shifting from a performance-oriented package to The flooring and framework appears solid throughout, indicative of a dry climate Chevelle. This underbody is in exceptional condition.
The trunk is clean and detailed, complete with the correct speckle paint, mat, and a spare tire/wheel.
The rear bumper showcased a new design for '71 with new dual round tail lights integral with the bumper along with the familiar black SS bumper pad.



The doors, trunk, and hood open and close as they should.
The correct door panels are in good condition.
The door undersides are clean and solid, indicative of a dry climate car.

1972 would be the last year of the 2nd generation Chevelle prior to an extensive restyling. The '71 is often considered to the be the last true muscle car for the Chevelle. This is your opportunity to own a good solid example ready to drive, show and enjoy.
In addition to the dual rear speakers, look closely and you will find some sanding marks in the rear glass on the drivers side
The paint shows some imperfections on closer inspection, altogether in very good condition.
