This Oldsmobile was recently featured in March, 2012 at the DFW Auto Show in Dallas, Texas.
The exterior showcases the correct Sandalwood yellow finish. This is a solid example that has been restored and well maintained. Recent work includes the addition of the W-30 Stripe package & emblems.
The interior has had extensive restoration work done in the correct style from Legendary Interiors. The upholstery is in excellent condition.
We have a folder full of history dating back many decades, including DMV, service, and sales records.
This car was ordered with Saddle interior. The dash and instruments are clear, clean and detailed throughout. An extremely well optioned 442, this car is equipped with the power 6-way driver seat, power windows, power locks, air conditioning, tilt steering column, an AM/FM 8 Track Stereo, and cruise control among other options. The W-30 Ram Air hood assembly is fully functional, complete with the vacuum-actuator operated breather.
This 455 V8 was originally rated at 340 horsepower. The addition of the Ram Air assembly conservatively raises the factory estimate to 350 horsepower. This example is equipped with its correct 396021 casted 455 4bbl. V8. The engine compartment displays the original firewall, inner fenders, and core support in exceptional condition. The original cowl information tag is also in place, confirming this to be one of 1,304 convertible 442s produced in 1971. This car retains its correct color combination of Sandalwood exterior and Saddle interior.
The paint itself is in very good to excellent condition throughout. This car retains its original body panels. The finish displays a straight gloss throughout with few imperfections.
The black convertible top is in excellent condition and functions as it should, complete with the saddle convertible top boot. The doors, hood, and trunk lid line up correctly.
Many of our photos of this classic 442 Convertible were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom.
The Soft-Ray tinted glass is in good condition throughout.
The trunk is clean and detailed, complete with the correct spare and jacking equipment. This Olds is also optioned with the power trunk release button.
The undercarriage displays solid underbody components throughout. This is an older restoration showing exceptionally well today. The suspension and frame have been under-coated.
The rear deck spoiler and trumpet exhaust tips are familiar 442 options.
The door panels are clean and detailed and the door undersides are solid.
The front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed.
This classic 442 rides on its correct 14-inch Oldsmobile wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Radial T/As on all 4 corners. The tires are sized at 215/70R14s.
