.

The Volkswagen reached its peak production number of 1,291,612 units sold in 1971. 1971 would also be the first year of Volkswagen's Super Beetle.
The exterior presents very well. The cream finish is in very good condition throughout as is the bright work.
The convertible top lowers and raises easily and is in excellent condition as well.
The interior features spartan VW features such as an AM radio, speedometer, and fuel gauge.
The upholstery shows very well throughout.
The dash displays original gauges and instruments. The speedometer is working as are the indicator lights, turn signals, and horn.
An aftermarket Sony CD stereo system has been installed in the glove box. The original Le Chaperon 8 transistor radio is in its original mounting position but no longer working.
The door panels are clean and detailed.
The door undersides are solid.
The headliner is in very good condition.
The 1600 c.c. single port engine (just treated to a tune up and compression test in our shop) runs good and the 4-speed manual gearbox shifts correctly. The clutch grips good.
The undercarriage is solid throughout. This has been a well-cared for example since day one thanks its single loving owner.
We have some snapshots of the car during its tear-down and rebuild. We have extensive receipts for the work performed. During the 1990s, the fuel tank and lines were replaced, the brake system overhauled, the engine thorougly went over, various gaskets and parts replaced, the clutch replaced and flywheel surface and much more.
This is a turn-key classic VW Convertible ready to enjoy. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas facility just rebuilt the carburetor and tuned the engine.
This stance is thanks to the restored factory 15-inch wheels wrapped in U.S. Royal Laredo whitewall tires sized at 5.60-15s.
The original gravel guards and running boards are in excellent condition as well.

The Spare Wheel/Tire is in place.
The original production tag is in place.
Open the trunk and you'll find a clean and detailed storage compartment, fuel tank, windshield washer tank and original sheetmetal.
